Straight about your data

What SYNC does with your data, in plain words. The full details are in the Privacy Policy.

  • No ads, no tracking across apps and websites, no analytics, and we never sell your data.
  • Chats are end-to-end encrypted: only the people in a chat can read its messages, photos, files and voice messages — not us. Calls are encrypted on their way, but not yet end to end.
  • Our servers still see who talks to whom and when, and the names and photos of people and groups, so that messages can be delivered.
  • Voice messages are turned into text on your iPhone, and the optional assistant runs there too. Nothing they work with is sent to us or used to train AI.
  • Notifications carry no message text through Apple: your iPhone decrypts each message itself, and you choose whether the text is shown.
  • You can delete your account in the app at any time: Settings › Account › Delete account.

Safe to use

SYNC has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. An automatic filter refuses names, group names and descriptions — and messages in chats that are not end-to-end encrypted — that contain slurs, threats or terms linked to the sexual exploitation of children.

Report

Touch and hold a message and choose Report, and say what is wrong. Our moderators review every report within 24 hours.

Block

Block anyone who bothers you, and remove a contact at any time.

16 and older

SYNC is for people aged 16 or older. Everyone accepts the Terms of Use when they sign up.
